SAMI YUSSUF VS. JUSTIN BIEBER

One statement really got my attention. It's a comment in one of the many videos in YouTube. A friend of mine highlighted this and ended up to me to get the thinking done. It goes something like this:

"I don't understand the youth today, i myself am only 18 years old and find this song(Sami Yussuf's song) amazing but it only has 1 million views, but singer out there which i have no hatred for such a Justin Bieber, he has over 100 million views on one of his videos alone.

My question is why has our generation changed?"

The answer is MEDIA.

One thing I have to say after reading that....this guy is bold to give out a statement like that. So, generally he deserves my applause. PEOPLE LET'S GET STRAIGHT TO THE POINT.

          In my honest opinion, you or we just cannot blame it fully on media. Every time there's something bad happened in society like robbery, rape, or even as simple as students "lepakking" in shopping malls, we tend to blame everything on media. We say that media gives bad influence to the children. So, why exactly media is doing this? Is it because it is the actual role of media to corrupt every human being in this planet? No. This is because there is a DEMAND. And where does this demand come from? Of course, from us THE PEOPLE.

The difference between Sami Yussuf and Justin Bieber in terms of music, Sami Yussuf offers religious songs (Islamic) while Justin Bieber is more to pop, hip-hop, everything that is in trends now. If I ask you right now, just how many people in this world love religious songs that lead you to God's path? I am not degrading religious songs but the truth is, not many people listen to them globally. If I take into account every Muslim that exist in this world and do a statistic, not each and every one of us really and truly loves this kind of music but I'm pretty sure that majority of them would prefer JB songs. Plus, I don't think so that Christians, Buddhist, Jewish and others listen to SY songs. Right?

           When this happen, the market for religious songs are smaller when compare to hip hop, rock, pop songs out there. Because more people want to hear this song and thus simply, media in which the humans control provides their needs. A simple analogy would be like Glee or Desperate Housewives or Prison Break. These shows are very popular and undeniably they have many seasons running. Why? Because their TV ratings are incredibly high and when they are high, producers just kept going and going in their production because again there is a big DEMAND for them. 

          So, all in all, media is not everything to be blamed. We are not looking at the main problem. The core of this problem is simply the Homo sapiens...if ever anything bad again happens to the community, don't just simply point your finger to the media, and instead point your finger to the people who did it. Train yourself to be able to refrain from doing something bad.

 NOT EVERYTHING THAT IS NOT RELIGIOUS IS BAD.

HIPOKRITNYA MANUSIA

 Pernahkah anda terfikir betapa hiprokitnya manusia ini? Dah diberi segala mcm tapi inilah yang dikatakan manusia. Sombong, bongkak, berlagak......tak pernah nak kenal erti bersyukur. Apabila seseorang itu menyatakan bahawa "Aku tiada apa2 lagi di bumi ini!!!"Adakah benda itu benar? Semestinya TIDAK!! Kenapa? Sebab kita ini sentiasa dikelilingi oleh alam tumbuhan, di atas kita ada langit yang membiru manakala di bawah kita pula ada bumi yang nyata. Semua benda ini dijadikan khas untuk manusia. MANUSIA YANG TAK KENAL ERTI KESYUKURAN. 


        Contoh yang paling mudah - pelajar. Apabila nak exam, masa tulah beria solat tahajud, witir, tasbih, taubat dan mcm2 lagi. Baca Yasin setiap hari tanpa jemu, berdoa sambil menangis teresak2 supaya berjaya dalam SPM atau PMR atau ujian kelayakan masuk Universiti atau periksa lepasan asasi. Kerana takut pada satu perkataan - KEGAGALAN. Lepas dah dpt semua yang diidamkan?? Hilang menyepi begitu saja.....meninggalkan Dia yang telah memakbulkan doa hamba2Nya yang merayu menangis2 setiap malam hanya utk berjaya dalam satu peperiksaan yang tidak membawa erti apa2 utk dunia akhirat. Adakah anda salah seorang daripada mereka ini?

"Dan apabila manusia ditimpa bencana, dia memohon (pertolongan) kepada Tuhannya, dengan kembali (taat) kepadaNya; tetapi apabila Dia memberikan nikmat kepadanya dia lupa (akan bencana) yang pernah dia berdoa kepada Allah sebelum itu......."

(39:8)

         Allah S.W.T. sendiri dah menyatakn perkara ini. Jadi, kenapa masih kita nak menafikan lagi yang kita semua sebenarnya pernah dan telah buat bnda2 seperti ini?? Namun Allah S.W.T. sentiasa mengampuni kita kerana Dia Maha Penyayang lagi Maha Mengasihani. Malahan, Dia bantu lagi kita apabila kita ditimpa kekesalan, kekecewaan.

"Katakanlah, 'Wahai hamba-hambaKu yang melampaui batas terhadap diri mereka sendiri! Janganlah kamu berputus asa dari rahmat Allah S.W.T. Sesungguhnya, Allah mengampuni dosa-dosa semuanya *kecuali dosa2 org yang syirik*. Sungguh, Dialah Yang Maha Pengampun, Maha Penyayang"

Cuba bayangkan....
Kalau kita berhutang dengan along, confirm2 along tu akan cari kita sampai ke lubang cacing kalau kita tak dapat nak langsaikan hutang yang kita pinjam drpd along tu kan? Bukan setakat bayar apa yang kita pinjam je, bunga2 hutang yang tinggi2 tu pun kena bayar sekali. Mana nak cari bro, sis?


Tapi pernah tak kita terfikir, mata, hidung, mulut, kaki, jari, kening dan anggota2 badan yang lain lagi sebenarnya pinjaman kita daripada Allah S.W.T.? Ada kita usaha utk membayar balik pinjaman2 tersebut? Ada ke? Cuba tanya balik diri....kalau ada berapa banyak dah buat? Rasa2nya cukup tak apa yang kita buat tu, dapat bayar balik x semua pinjaman yang tak ternilai itu?


Tapi lambat mana pun kita bayar, ada Allah nak kejar kita? Marah kita? Suruh malaikat2Nya bunuh kita? Ada? X de...lagi Dia Ampunkan kita adalah, lagi Dia berikan Rezeki kepada kita adalah, lagi Dia berikan Kebahagiaan kepada kita adalah.....

     Sedarlah wahai sahabat2ku, teman2ku....

Masih belum terlambat untuk anda tersedar dari tidur yang lena, 

Masih belum terlambat untuk anda menyesali perbuatan anda,

Masih belum terlambat untuk anda memohon keampunan dariNya.

I know that this list is meant for Americans but since America is one of the country that holds the world economy, so perhaps this list might be true to many other countries. So, as you can see ..."surprise surprise" the top 5 best paying jobs go to occupations in the medical field. Not very surprising isn't it? Doctors’ salaries are so high not only because of supply and demand but also to offset the amounts they have to invest in education and malpractice insurance. The 33,310 anesthesiologists in the U.S. also work long shifts and play an integral role in keeping patients alive during surgery to earn their sizable salaries. According to the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), the high pay reflects the responsibility and risk involved in their job.

          That is in fact very true. Why? Because doctors or rather say people in the medical field, they are dealing with human lives. Not something that we can experiment and play every day. One wrong move, can cost a human life. But people please, if you want to be in this field, make sure it is not about the money.

         Make sure it is something that you truly want to do. Not just something that you are forced to do or expected to do. Whatever job you take, make sure you'll enjoy doing it. Because if you don't, then what's the point.

MONEY CAN'T BUY EVERYTHING

THE THING WITH HIJAB

Up until this point, I'm very sure that most muslimah already know how to wear their hijab properly. Alhamdulillah for that. But surprisingly, one article really hits me and makes me realize that it is not just about how we wear it, but actually it is more to THE POINT OF WEARING HIJAB ITSELF.


"Now there's nothing wrong with a bit of fashion and it's good to look well-groomed and etc.
however-
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HIJAB?
Well amongst a few reasons, the main reason for it is for modesty.

Coloured scarves are fine. A little styling is fine.
But when you end up with 3-5 separate scarves piled up on your head in various twists and turns and so thus achieving an attractive eye grabbing display, don't you think there's something wrong?
Is that hijab, really hijab?
When you walk outside in the morning will you be the most eye catching thing around?
Are you maintaining the point of hijab?

When we are dressing in the mornings, we should always question our intuitions and do the same thing every time before we leave the house.  
It's good to look nice - Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty.
But there's a difference in looking nice and showing off.

And crossing the barriers don't stop at Hijabs themselves.

There's the skinny jeans, tight tops, bright red lipsticks etc.
As a teen myself, I know the feeling of self-consciousness.
I know the desire one has to fit in. But this is only a short life and we should be passing by it as if we are strangers.
What I've never quite understood is that I see sisters walk around happily in skinny jeans and a tight top but suddenly when its time to pray they slip a jacket on top of it.
As if they know that their apparel will not be approved by Allah S.W.T.
But Allah does not just face you when you pray! He's there all the time and He knows everything.
If you are ashamed of how the state of your hijab is in front of Allah S.W.T. then why not in front of others?
Why not in front of every non Mahram that will pass you by that day?


We don't have to choose Faith or Fashion. We can look good but modest at the same time. We just have to know when we are crossing lines. We have to know the limits of when something stops being modest and starts being a distraction to those around us.


Before you leave the house in the morning, my advice to you would be to ask yourself:
"WOULD I PRAY WITH THESE CLOTHES ON?"
"AM I DRESSING FOR ALLAH OR FOR THE PEOPLE?"

This is the article that I was saying. How to measure a great women? To me, a great woman is someone who can lower a man's gaze when he walk pass her. That just shows how the man actually really respect her by LOWERING HIS GAZE Because WHY!? Because he feels ashamed, he feels the need to respect, he feels the urge to honour the woman. This can only be achieved if and only if the woman herself, wears proper hijab.

          No man will have the courage to look into a woman's eyes who covers her aurat well. Believe me.

All of us have already been given a choice. Now it is up to us, to follow which path. Path that leads to happiness in the life after or path that will lead to destruction?

"....Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it; 

He will indeed be successful who purifies it,

And He will indeed fail who corrupts it..."

(91:8-9) 

CHANGE

So, I've always thought about this? Why do we need the CHANGE? and actually what is Change? If you refer to the dictionary, change actually means to make or become different. What is this all about? It's about you changing yourself to become a better person.

           By mentioning a better person, does not always mean you have to change from a very bad person to a really good person. There's always a need for a person to change from what he is today to what he will become tomorrow. It's a good change. If he is a good person today, he will become a better person tomorrow and a great person the next. When we talk about changing attitude or behavior, the first thing that came out of the bat is from bad to good or from devil to angel. What people nowadays missing is the fact that WE actually NEED A CHANGE IN OUR LIFE!!! THE CHANGE

          Survival of the fittest. The be the last one standing. To stay on top. All of that desires needs some sort of push and surprisingly a change in habit in our life. We all want to be His best servant. His loyal servant but up until now, just what we have done? Have you ever questioned yourself that? The simplest analogy would be like you having a car. It is not a bad thing..it's good right? Cars make your life convenient in anyway possible when you need to travel. To make sure your car is in its good condition or rather say in its most fittest condition, it needs servicing every once a month. If you don't service your car, it will not perform its best. The main reason for servicing your car, is to make sure whether the car's brake is in good condition, the tires, the engine and everything is in top. Same goes to humans. We need to "service" ourselves every now and then. To make sure our iman is in top condition because humans tend to forget and tend to fail to notice all this. If you managed to service yourself in the right way, InsyaAllah you will feel brand new, fresh and clean.

           Sometimes, there are situations where we need to change but not for ourselves but for others. This can go to 2 ways: to change for better or to change for worst. The change that we feared the most is the change for worst. For example, peers pressure that force you to smoke, to drink, take drugs, stealing and other bad stuff or changing yourself just to make sure that the person you like response to you. It short, make that person fall in love with you. For what you have to do that? POINTLESS...you are who you are. You don't have to change just to make sure one person, just a single person likes you.....read this: BEAUTY: OUTSIDE IN OR INSIDE OUT?

             When we have the desire to change, the first step is going to be the longest stride and the hardest step. I'm sure you have heard about it. It is absolutely true. Because you are doing something that you are not familiar with and it is new to you. So, it takes a lot of courage and determination and support to do it. Once you are done with it, the first few steps is still going to be hard but it gets better after a while because what? YOU ARE USED TO IT!!!

          Istiqamah in what you are doing. InsyaAllah Allah is there to help and guide you. Something like this...

THE CHANGE THAT YOU MAY HAVE MADE DOES NOT NEED TO BE BIG. IT CAN BE SMALL BUT IN CONSISTENCY. 

THAT IS WAY BETTER THAN DOING IT BIG BUT LASTED FOR A SECOND.

KISAH SERAM

Malam itu, ada seorang pemuda yang baru pulang dari tempat kerja terpaksa menumpang teduh di suatu rumah yang hanya dihuni oleh seorang ibu dan anak perempuannya karena hujan dengan deras membasahi bumi. Kerana dilihat diluar ada seorang laki-laki, ibu itupun memberanikan diri untuk bertanya kepada pemuda itu. 

 

 

Ibu : Nak, dari mana ? 

 

 

Pemuda : Maaf makcik, saya cuma menumpang berteduh di rumah makcik. Setelah hujan berhenti nanti saya akan pulang. 

 

 

Ibu : Oh begitu.. tiada apa-apa! 

 

 

Kerana ibu itu yakin pemuda itu orang yang baik, dia pun mempelawa pemuda itu masuk kedalam rumah. Kerana di luar hujan masih lebat dan malam pun sudah semakin larut, Ibu itu memberanikan diri untuk membenarkan pemuda tidur semalam di rumahnya

 

 

Mendengar ajakan Ibu itu, dengan malu-malu (tapi mahuu) si pemuda itu pun tidak keberatan untuk sekadar menumpang barang semalam di rumah itu, apalagi Ibu itu punya anak perempuan yang cukup cantik. lagipun kebetulan di rumah itu masih ada satu bilik kosong, Ibu dan anak perempuannya bergegas mengemas bilik kosong itu, sementara si pemuda itu ditinggalkannya di ruang tamu. 

 

 

Selang beberapa kemudian, Ibu dan anaknya kembali ke ruang tamu untuk menemui pemuda tadi. Betapa terkejutnya mereka kerana pemuda itu sudah tidak ada lagi. Ibu dan anaknya saling berpandangan, rasa takut mula menghantui mereka berdua siapa tahu kalu si pemuda tadi bukan orang tapi jelmaan makhluk ghaib. Hujan yang semakin deras dan kilat yang saling menyambar menambah ketakutan mereka. Sedang mereka dalam ketakutan itu, tiba-tiba mereka berdua dikejutkan pula oleh si pemuda tadi yang tanpa dijemput masuk kembali kedalam rumah dalam keadaan basah kuyup. Tanpa berpikir panjang walaupun masih ada rasa takutnya, Ibu itu pun bertanya kepada si pemuda.

 

 

Ibu : Nak, dari mana basah kuyup ni ? 

 

 

Pemuda : Maaf makcik, saya pulang dulu ke rumah ambil bantal dan selimut!

TANJUNG BIDARA SPECIAL

Probably, speaking straight from the heart, I would say, this is a very enjoyable and exciting trip that I had so far staying in INTEC. This was suppose to be a biology field trip, it means that this trip is actually for us to do our report, investigating the natural biodiversity occurring there but then you know what happens when.....

water + beach+ friends+ volleyball+ small kids+ BBQ + sand + blue sky =  FUN!!!!!!
*FOR NOW IT'S FUN....WAIT TILL Y-O-U DO THE REPORT!!!! WARGHHHHHH*

          Anyway, thanks a lot to NICO SCARLET, she did an awesome video during our stay there for 2 days and one night. =D

Dan hak kamu atas mereka ialah mereka sama sekali tidak boleh memasukkan orang yang tidak kamu sukai ke dalam rumah kamu dan dilarang melakukan zina."

Tidak seorang pun lebih mulia dari yang lainnya kecuali dalam taqwa dan beramal soleh."

Sesungguhnya aku tinggalkan kepada kamu 2 perkara, yang sekiranya kamu berpegang teguh dan mengikuti kedua-duanya, nescaya kamu tidak akan tersesat selama-lamanya. Itulah Al-Quran dan sunnahku."
